Digital Storyboard: Daniel

This one started out as an acting exercise (I took a class around the time I wrote the piece) between two dynamically different characters. Instead of performing it, I used the concept for...well this. "Daniel" is where I added Google SketchUp to my software arsenal.

Digital Storyboard: The Boy Scout

The initial pass took a one week spring break to write, thumbnail and complete. I consider it my first real storyboard attempt, and am glad to have FINALLY found some time to overhaul it.

Final Character Lineup + Synopsis

And here's the colors. The drawings were edited a touch too. I'll update with more images when I have time.



So basically in my concept, Jackie and her mother live in this rundown housing project in the Bronx. Their sleaze-ball landlord is Mr. Giant. Instead of the kid exploring a giant world in the clouds, she travels through pipe-shaped beanstalk vines, making her fun-sized. During her tiny adventure (in a not-so-tiny New York penthouse), she uncovers some dirt on Giant that could royally cramp his expensive style.

Boy when you drop an old fable on a story artist's lap, and put a gun to his head...lol

Going Digital

So my tablet PC came in. Lately I'm not much of a painter, so this development helps me out a LOT. The final should be completely redrawn.

I did one with cool shade, one with really warm shade, and one where Jackie is the only saturated character in the room.
